About the GSOA

The Great Southwest Officials Association is one of the premier organizations for small college basketball officials in the U.S. We train and schedule men's and women's basketball officials for institutions in the NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA.

Our Mission, Vision, and Purpose

Our Officials

Members of the GSOA are basketball officials at the "top of their game." Referees in the GSOA are independent contractors who bring competence, good judgement, and experience to the games they officiate. 

Our Customers
NCAA Division II and Division III, NAIA, and Junior College men’s and women’s basketball student-athletes, coaches, athletic directors, athletic departments, school administrators, and fans.

To provide the best officials possible for all games, teams, and institutions we service.

 

Vision
To be the leading source of professional, trained, and competent basketball and football officials in Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, New Mexico, Mississippi, and Kansas.

 

Purpose
To identify, select, train, retain, and promote quality officials that can provide exceptional officiating services to our member institutions, while being a resource pool of officials for Division I Supervisors.

Coordinator of Officials


Tony Stigliano
Tony Stigliano is a former NCAA men's basketball official for the Big 12, Big 10, Western Athletic, and Sunbelt Conferences. He has served as commissioner of the Heartland Conference, the Red River Athletic Conference,
and the Heart of Texas Conference. Stigliano also has in-depth experience in the areas of leadership training, management, and business planning.
